Pencak Silat: 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championships, Pesta Sukan 2025


Past and present student-athletes delivered a strong showing at the 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship in Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam, from 24 to 30 July 2025, securing 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals. The standout performance came from the Senior Female Regu team. Alumna Amirah Sahrin was part of the trio that clinched gold with a narrow win over Malaysia. Rifqah Musrsyidah Mistam earned silver in the Senior Female Class C final after a hard-fought match against her Malaysian opponent. Bronze medals were awarded to Aniq Asri Mohammad Yazid, Nadhrah Sahrin, and Nur Aniqah Qistina Roslan, who all reached the semi-finals in their respective match categories. 

On local mats at Pesta Sukan from 19 to 20 July, student-athletes’ golden performances earned them 8 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. Muhammad Feeqry Muhammad Faizal stood out with a double medal finish, clinching gold and bronze in the Male Junior <39 Artistic Solo category. Other student-athletes who impressed with gold medals are Nur Hanifah Qisya Mohammad Hanis, Muhammad Aniq Farish Roslan, Danial Hariz Rizal, Maisarah Sahrin, Muhammad Naufal Bin Abdullah, Muhammad Fiqh Firdaus, and Tuah Iskandar Junaidi Iskandar, all of whom captured first-place finishes in their respective divisions.
With a combination of skill, discipline, and determination, these student-athletes showed that they are a force to be reckoned with on the mat.
