Fostering A Lasting Sporting Bond With Kochi Prefecture
Fostering A Lasting Sporting Bond With Kochi Prefecture
Sports Exchange between Kochi Prefectural Board of Education and Singapore Sports School
Singapore Sports School has been collaborating with Kochi Prefecture since 2017 to offer our Badminton and Table Tennis Academy student-athletes greater international exposure and opportunities to sharpen their sporting skills.
The win-win partnership has taken shape through a biennial exchange programme, with our student-athletes travelling to Kochi every two years and welcoming their Japanese counterparts in the alternate years.
This year, we were thrilled to host student-athletes from Kochi once again. Beyond training sessions and sports learning, their itinerary included visits to Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay, giving them a taste of Singapore's urban gems. They also spent a day at Spectra Secondary School, where they got their hands dirty in the rooftop garden, sampled the infamous durian, and enjoyed a hearty local meal at the school’s Bistro. At Sports School, they enjoyed a cultural programme and had fun playing bowling.
We’re confident the experience offered both cultural and sporting takeaways, and we look forward to continuing this vibrant exchange in the years ahead.
