FOR SINGAPOREANS

EW BARKER SCHOLARSHIP AND EW BARKER STUDY AWARD
The EW Barker Scholarship and EW Barker Study Award are made possible by the EW Barker Endowment managed by Temasek Foundation. The Endowment is a tribute to one of the pioneer leaders of Singapore, Mr Edmund William Barker, who was a statesman, scholar, sportsman and supporter of sport. 

EW Barker scholars are student-athletes who have exemplary conduct, outstanding sport results and potential to become high-performing athletes.  The EW Barker Scholarship was launched by DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam during the School’s 15th Anniversary Celebrations cum Awards Night held on 13 February 2019. 

The EW Barker Study Award, launched in 2019, provides financial support to deserving student-athletes with sports potential, good conduct and satisfactory academic results. 

Application is not required. Student-athletes who meet the Scholarship or Study Award criteria will be nominated.

ADMISSIONS SCHOLARSHIP
The Admission Scholarship is offered to incoming Secondary 1 Singaporean students who possess outstanding sport achievements. Selection is based on outstanding performances at National Inter-Primary School or National Age-Group competitions, together with the potential to excel in future.

Application is not required. Prospective student-athletes who meet the scholarship criteria will be shortlisted for scholarship interview. The scholarship is awarded for a period of two years from Secondary 1 to Secondary 2.

ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Achievement Scholarship is offered to Singaporean student-athletes who have excelled in their sport during their first two years in Singapore Sports School.

Application is not required. Student-athletes who meet the scholarship criteria will be nominated for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for a period of two/three years from Secondary 3 to Secondary 4/5.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR POST-SECONDARY INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA PROGRAMME (IBDP)
The Post-Secondary (IBDP) Scholarship is offered to Singaporean student-athletes who excel in their sport at National Level.

Application is not required. Student-athletes who meet the scholarship criteria will be nominated for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for a period of two years from IBDP Year 5 to Year 6.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR POST-SECONDARY POLYTECHNIC PROGRAMME 
The Post-Secondary (Polytechnic) Scholarship is offered to Singaporean student-athletes who excel in their sport at National Level during their three years of studies in the through train Diploma Programmes. 

Application is not required. Student-athletes who meet the scholarship criteria will be nominated for the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded on a yearly basis.

Other than the above scholarships, Sports School also administers the following Ministry of Education Scholarships:

EDUSAVE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS (ESIS)

UPLIFT SCHOLARSHIP

Sports School’s Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) recipients receiving 100% fee subsidy will be auto-awarded the UPLIFT Scholarship. 
(To apply for FAS, please submit the completed FAS application form and all relevant documents to Sports School.) 

FOREIGN SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP (FSS)

FSS is open to Singapore Permanent Residents and International Students with very outstanding sport achievements in Badminton, Bowling, Fencing, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis or Track and Field.

The FSS complements Singapore Sports School's primary goal of developing young sport talents. Foreign Sports Scholars will help create a culture of diversity and help raise the standard of play of our local student-athletes.
