Singapore Sports School’s Football Academy focuses on holistic development of student-athletes and strives to provide a comprehensive football development programme comprising of local and overseas exposures through competitions and training exchanges.

Our Football Academy recently extended our training base to Europe so as to expose our student-athletes to different playing styles and experiences. Our collaboration with a sports school in Berlin, Sportschule in Olympiapark – Poelchau-Schule, provides our student-athletes the opportunity to be attached to Hertha BSC, a Bundesliga football club. The knowledge and experience gained from such attachments with youth players in a world-class youth development setup is second to none.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

P6 Admission into Secondary Programme

SSP/NDC Programme

All players selected for this programme must be recommended by FAS and UTR coaches and be part of FAS’s NDC programme starting at the U13 age group.

SSP/non-NDC Programme

Selection will be done jointly by SSP coaches. All players selected for this programme must demonstrate potential to qualify for the NDC programme in the future.

Mid-stream Admission into Secondary Programme

SSP/National Development Centre (NDC) Programme

Players must be part of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS)’s NDC U13/U14/U15 age-group team

SSP/non-NDC Programme

Players with potential to qualify for the NDC programme or Singapore Premier League (SPL) clubs subsequently

Mid-stream Admission into Post-Secondary Programme

Minimally in Singapore Premier League (SPL) club or part of National Development Centre (NDC) Programme U15, NDC U16 or AFC/AFF squad

Major Games Representation

Olympic Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Southeast Asian Games. Many Singapore Sports School present and past student-athletes have gone on to the national teams and done Singapore proud at major sport competitions.
