12 Named Best Sportsboy or Sportsgirl
55th Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC) Colours Award
On 26 September 2025, 12 student-athletes were named Best Sportsboy or Best Sportsgirl at the Singapore Schools Sports Council Colours Awards Presentation. They were among the 53 students from 18 schools who were honoured as the best in their sport based on their sporting achievements and character in local and overseas competitions from January to August. Student-athletes who represented the Singapore Schools Sports Team or achieved tour four at the National School Games also received the SSSC Colours Award.
Erdy Thaqib Mohammad Taha was named the Best Sportsboy in Football. As football is a highly competitive sport, he was pleasantly surprised when he received the honour. He shared, “After the initial shock, I felt proud and happy because my hard work paid off and I made my parents proud of my achievements. Receiving the award also makes me feel the hunger to strive forward more and continue giving my best in football.”
Shooter Bernice Lim Xuanyi was also happy to receive the award. Bernice, who represented Singapore at the Junior World Cup shared, “I feel very happy and proud to receive this award, as it recognises the years of hard work I have put in.”
The SSSC Best Sportsboy and Best Sportsgirl Awards were presented by alumna and Olympic fencer Amita Berthier. Held at Kent Ridge Secondary School, the ceremony also marked the closing of the National School Games 2025, which saw over 69,000 student-athletes compete across a wide range of sports and games from January to August.
