Heart For Service Wins Harvard Book Prize
The Harvard Prize Book (Singapore) 2024/2025

Alumna Soh Yi Wei has a heart of gold and helping hands that have served the community since young. The shooter, who graduated with an International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2024, has been recognised for her kindness, compassion and heart for service with The Harvard Prize Book (Singapore) 2024/2025.
The Harvard Prize Book is an award presented to graduating pre-tertiary students in close to 2000 participating schools around the world. The Singapore edition of the award criteria focus on caring behaviour, kindness and service leadership on a sustained basis.
Yi Wei has been volunteering with the Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) since Primary 3, together with her parents. Their monthly visits to cook and serve meals to elderly residents have become a longstanding family tradition. During festive occasions such as Christmas and Chinese New Year, Yi Wei went the extra mile to help organise special meals and in Secondary 3, personally baked cookies to bring cheer to the residents.
She continued to expand her impact through regular Zumba sessions for the elderly and, as part of her Creativity, Activity, Service project, rallied her peers to organise a Christmas activity complete with goodie bags and games. Her leadership and initiative inspired others to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Yi Wei also volunteered with Glyph Community, where she chaperoned children from low-income families on a memorable outing to Bird Paradise. She has participated in various ad-hoc volunteering efforts, always ready to give back where help is needed.
Beyond her service, Yi Wei is a dedicated student-athlete. She will be pursuing a degree in Life Sciences and Management at the National University of Singapore (NUS), supported by the NUS Sports Scholarship.
Yi Wei aspires to represent Singapore at the Major Games while building a career in the pharmaceutical sector - an inspiring example of how sports, service, and science can come together to shape a life of purpose.
