Shooters Fired Up the Podium

Shooting: 5th Thailand Open Shooting Championship & Master Games


The 5th Thailand Open Shooting Championship & Master Games, held from 29 June to 7 July 2026, brought together athletes from Singapore Sports School, Singapore Shooting Association (SSA), and Singapore Disability Sports Council to test their skills on the same international stage. The contingent put up a hard-fought effort against talented competitors from Thailand, the Philippines, and India, securing an impressive medal haul of 38 medals by our past and present student-athletes.

In the air pistol events, our women pistol shooters demonstrated composure and dedication on the range. Secondary 4 shooter Quek Gek Ling, representing the SSA, earned an impressive top place finish in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Junior event.

Over in the air rifle discipline, Singapore’s shooters displayed calm technique and careful focus. Joey Oh, representing the SSA, delivered a fine performance to take home first place in the 10m Air Rifle Women Junior Individual event. The winning streak continued in the junior team event where our female riflers dominated with a memorable 1-2-3 podium finish.

Meanwhile, Secondary 2 shooter Belinda Lim also showed admirable skill in the youth category, finishing first in the 10m Air Rifle Women Youth Individual before teaming with her seniors Amelia Noor Hisham and Vera Wong to take top honours in the 10m Air Rifle Women Youth Team event. Belinda wrapped up her tournament by partnering with schoolmate Ho Sun Yu Hong to earn first place in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Youth.

The male rifle squad continued to shoot with steady focus across their events. Lee Zhe Kai, representing the SSA, displayed great accuracy to claim first place in the 10m Air Rifle Men Junior Individual event. He then partnered with Eston Soo to earn another first-place finish in the 10m Air Rifle Men Junior Team category, while teammate Ho Sun Yu Hong put together an excellent series to finish 1st in the 10m Air Rifle Men Youth Individual event.

Our alumni also rounded out the campaign with poise and experience. Alumna Ho Xiu Yi posted a fantastic score to take home first place in the 10m Air Rifle Women Individual event. Working together seamlessly, Xiu Yi then teamed up with fellow alumnae Adele Tan and Fernel Tan to secure first place in the 10m Air Rifle Women Team event. Adele and Fernel also went on to clinch a first place in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women and 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team respectively.
