Spain Awaits for Football Duo

Unleash the Roar! Overseas Football Scholarship


Secondary 3 footballers Ayden Naim Fakhry and Matteo Del Rosario are the latest recipients of the Unleash the Roar! Overseas Scholarship.

The duo will embark on a one-year football development journey in Spain, where they will study at King's College while training and competing with Rayo Alcobendas, one of Madrid's leading youth football clubs. The National Development Centre (NDC) Under-15 footballers are among three new recipients of the scholarship, now in its fourth year.

For Matteo, the scholarship is a dream opportunity to take his game to the next level.

"I feel very proud and honoured to receive this scholarship. As it is only awarded to a few people each year, I will do my best to make the most of this opportunity. I hope to gain valuable exposure to the highest level of football and, one day, represent Singapore in the national team."

Naim is equally excited about the opportunity to accelerate his football development.

"This scholarship is one of many steps that will help me realise my dream of representing Singapore one day. It is an honour to receive this scholarship and have the chance to play in Spain, home to the FIFA World Cup champions and one of the world's leading football nations."

The scholarship recipients were announced at the Unleash the Roar! Pathways and Partnerships Ceremony on 26 July 2026. During the event, partner schools, including Singapore Sports School, were recognised for their contributions to developing well-rounded student-athletes through collaborative football pathways.
