Janelle Yeo Awarded SPF Book Prize
Singapore Police Force Book Prize Award 2025

Janelle Yeo Run En, a final-year IBDP student-athlete, has been awarded the prestigious Singapore Police Force (SPF) Book Prize. She received the award from Superintendent of Police Lee Han Sheng on 22 July 2025.
The SPF Book Prize recognises outstanding students from Junior Colleges, International Baccalaureate programmes, and Polytechnics for their academic excellence and exceptional co-curricular achievements. The award affirms the SPF’s commitment to supporting the holistic development of students as future leaders of Singapore.
Each year, 20 students in their final year of JC, IB, or Polytechnic studies are selected for this honour. As part of the award, recipients take part in unique experiential programmes that offer insights into policing and opportunities to engage with SPF officers. Each award also comes with a $2,500 cash prize.
Janelle is a well-rounded student who has demonstrated excellence in both sports and service. She has an impressive record of sporting achievements as an artistic swimmer. Within school, she has taken on key leadership roles, most notably as the President of the 2024/2025 Student Council. She also spearheaded Project Cura, a student-led volunteering initiative that aims to bring student-athletes together to give back to the community.

Janelle is extremely pleased to receive the award. She said, “I’m truly grateful to have been awarded the SPF Book Prize. To me, this recognition represents more than just financial support — it’s an affirmation of the values I hold close: service, empathy, and community.
A band-aid doesn’t just stop the bleeding; it begins the healing. That’s how I’ve come to see the SPF — as vital forces in caring for the often-unseen wounds of our society. As someone who finds quiet beauty in supporting people through their most vulnerable moments, I hope to give back in ways that reflect the spirit of this prize!”
