Visit by Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, India

On 28 July 2025, we hosted the Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, India, Mr Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Mr Naidu, who is committed to nurturing international-level athletes, was briefed by Principal Mr Ong Kim Soon on Singapore Sports School’s integrated sports and academic programmes and athlete-centric support. He was joined by Mr Pullella Gopichand, the Chief National Coach for India’s national badminton team, Ministers and senior officials. The delegation also took a tour around the school to view our infrastructure and interact with our student-athletes.

Leveraging AI in Education Workshop

On 24 July 2025, Malay Language teachers from all corners of the island dropped by our school to dive into the world of AI! Our Malay Language teachers from the Mother Tongue Department have leveraged on AI to create their own chatbots that can be used for teaching and learning.

During the hands-on workshop, participants learned how to build custom student-facing chatbots, facilitated by our very own Malay language teachers.

As students interact with the bot, teachers get real-time insights into their progress or struggles, allowing timely intervention. These AI-powered bots are not just digital teaching assistants, they are interactive learning buddies that make lessons more engaging and tailored.

By embracing innovation and sharing their expertise with the broader teaching community, our teachers are not only enhancing their own practice but also contributing to the future of education. With AI as a powerful partner in the classroom, they are transforming lessons into more engaging, personalised learning experiences. With these clever chatbots in the mix, it is safe to say the teachers are no longer flying solo. They have officially bot a new partner in class!
