Exploring Career Paths
Education and Career Guidance
Singapore Sports School prepares student-athletes for life beyond sport through a series of Education and Career Guidance (ECG) sessions.
On 14 August 2025, ECG Career Webinars were organised to broaden student-athletes’ awareness of the evolving world of work and the wide range of emerging professions. The webinars introduced industries such as Medicine, Law, Business, Finance, Technology, Digital Marketing, and Sports, giving students the opportunity to explore career possibilities and understand the educational pathways that could lead to meaningful futures.
Earlier, on 31 July 2025, two officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) engaged with International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) students in an exclusive sharing session. They shared their roles and responsibilities, the adrenaline and challenges of safeguarding Singaporeans, as well as the camaraderie and teamwork that are integral to their professions. This session aimed to provide deeper insights into Public Service careers and inspire student-athletes considering this meaningful path.
These ECG initiatives hope to equip student-athletes with the knowledge and perspectives to make informed decisions about their future careers, while encouraging them to pursue pathways that align with their passions, strengths, and aspirations.
