Rising Swimming Stars Sparkle At World Juniors

It was an unforgettable experience for Julia Yeo, standing on the starting block alongside the world’s top young swimmers at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships 2025. The Secondary 3 student-athlete didn’t just step into the pool, she plunged in with determination and focus, ready to make her mark.

Julia’s effort paid off spectacularly. She was part of the Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay team that smashed the U17 National Record, finishing in 4:12.68 and eclipsing the previous record of 4:17.56 set in 2015. Leading off the relay, she also set a personal best of 1:05.07 in the 100m Backstroke.

The achievements didn’t stop there. Julia also hit the SEA Games ‘A’ qualifying mark in the 200m Backstroke with a timing of 2:17.90.

Meanwhile, fellow swimmers Ian Leong, Kayley Goh, and Joy Neo also proudly represented Singapore at the Championships held in Otopeni, Romania, from 19 to 24 August 2025, with Ian achieving personal bests in both the 50m and 200m Freestyle.
