Fuelling Dreams With The SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship
SOF-Peter Lim Scholarship Ceremony
27 student-athletes scored big in the High-Performance Under-18 category of the Singapore Olympic Foundation – Peter Lim Scholarship 2025. Adding to this achievement, 21 more of our student-athletes were recognised in the secondary and tertiary categories, bringing the total to an impressive 48 recipients from Singapore Sports School.
Held on 1 August 2025 at Temasek Polytechnic, the ceremony marked the scholarship’s 15th edition, celebrating 346 student-athletes from 106 schools across 39 sports. A total of $1,048,000 in cash awards was presented this year, cementing the SOF – Peter Lim Scholarship’s status as Singapore’s largest private donation for youth sports development.
Adding to the excitement, Olympic swimming champion Chad le Clos graced the event as a special guest, sharing his journey and motivating the next generation of athletes to dream big and persevere. The event also saw the presence of prominent local dignitaries, underscoring the significance of this scholarship in shaping Singapore’s sporting future.
Over the years, the SOF – Peter Lim Scholarship has empowered thousands of youth athletes, including household names like Joseph Schooling, Singapore’s first Olympic gold medallist, and Shanti Pereira, reigning Asian Games sprint champion. Beyond these big names, the scholarship has quietly fuelled the journeys of countless rising talents, providing the resources they need to balance sporting aspirations with academic demands.
For our student-athletes, this recognition is more than financial aid. It recognises their hard work, commitment, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. This award also helps them excel both on and off the field.
