Organised by the Ministry of Education and held at Nanyang Technological University, the theme for this year’s Pre-University Seminar is ‘re-imagiNATION’. It reflects the vision of inspiring Singapore’s youth to rethink, reshape and reignite the nation’s future. It emphasises growth, connection, and the limitless potential of our nation.
The ten of us, namely, Jonathan Ho Yi En, Wong Lok Yiu (both Diploma in Business Studies, Year 1),Nadine Fateha Zuraimy (Diploma in Business Studies, Year 3), Hazel Tan Wei Ning (Diploma in Business, Year 2), Joey Oh Hwee Teng Jaymee Poh, Cari-Anne Ong, Magdalene Lee, Har Mint and Wichelle Tan Wee Xuan (all IBDP, Year 5), participated in the Seminar.
Pre-University Seminar participants had the golden opportunity to meet our esteemed Ministers and experts from different fields. Besides that, the stay-over served as a means to facilitate enriching discussions with individuals from different schools, triggering us participants to think from various perspectives.
Through this seminar, we gained insight into what goes on behind the scenes when planning Singapore’s growth, thanks to the wealth of experience possessed by our speakers. Having the opportunity to tackle prevailing issues of concern in Singapore alongside our peers challenged our current viewpoints, prompting us to think more deeply when brainstorming and come up with more refined and established solutions. This experience forged many unbreakable friendships, uniting those who wish for a stronger Singapore together in solution-making. It truly inspired me to see so many individuals who are passionate about making a difference in society come together to solidify ideas, curating memories in the process. I believe that with a stronger network, working towards our dream Singapore is absolutely feasible.
