Fencing: Asian Fencing Championships 2025
What a run for Team Singapore at the Asian Fencing Championships 2025! Juliet Heng lit up the piste with flair, lunging her way into a thrilling Women’s Sabre final. She fought hard against Japan’s top-ranked Emura Misaki and brought home a silver medal, making it her best international showing yet!
“I still haven't processed that I made it this far. It's just an honour and I'm just grateful for the effort that everyone has poured into me. I'm glad I didn't let them down. This medal is not just a one person effort, it was a joint effort and it's a contribution from everyone. Having this is a big motivation and also encouragement for the whole team. I want to show people that we can do it, and also encourage my schoolmates... that we can get medals as long as we work hard and believe," shared Juliet.
Recent graduate Si To Jian Tong also impressed in the Men’s Epee, putting up a solid fight to finish Top 8 among Asia’s finest.
Also, alumni Amita Berthier and Cheung Kemei who teamed up with fellow national fencers Maxine Wong and Stephanie Lee showcased fiery spirit and unity to secure a team bronze, adding one more medal to the tally.
With a silver, a bronze and a Top 8 finish, this marks Singapore’s strongest showing ever at the Asian Fencing Championships. Proud, pumped and poised for more, our fencers are only getting sharper!
