Shuttlers End June With More Medals

Badminton: East Badminton Academy Age Group Series 2025

Shuttlers continued their excellent run of form in June with a strong impression at the East Badminton Academy Age Group Series 2025. Held from 23 to 29 June 2005, it was a week marked by intense rallies and remarkable determination.

Chara Loo led the charge in the U15 Girls’ Singles, displaying impressive court coverage and tactical play to secure the championship. On the boys’ side, alumnus Chua Min Han emerged victorious in the Men’s Singles, overcoming stiff competition to take home the title.

The winning momentum continued in the Doubles events. After her Singles triumph, Chara teamed up with Bonita Bai to claim gold in the U15 Girls’ Doubles. In the U15 Boys’ Doubles, Sean John Salim delivered a standout performance to finish first. The U17 Girls’ Doubles title went to Tai Wan Yuu, who navigated a challenging field with composure. Meanwhile, in the Women’s Doubles, alumna Lim Ming Hui showcased the experience and skill to clinch the championship.

Beyond the gold medals, our shuttlers consistently reached the podium. Bonita and Vivian Loh shared 3rd place in the U15 Girls’ Singles, while Sean John Salim added a bronze in the U15 Boys’ Singles. In the U17 Girls’ Singles, Maegan Tan finished 2nd and Abhyarthna Chhajer tied for 3rd. The U17 Boys’ Singles saw Foo Ee Zen as runner-up, with Bryant Low coming in joint 3rd. Foo Ee Zen and Gerald Koh also earned a joint 3rd place finish in the U19 Boys’ Singles.

In Doubles, Raeanne Ang and Tan Wan Qi, as well as Julia Teo and Sara Nadya Foo Muhammad Zulkifli, both secured joint 3rd in the U15 Girls’ Doubles. Andres Lim and Tan Xi En were runners-up in the U15 Boys’ Doubles. Caryn Chua and Abhyarthna took 2nd place in the U17 Girls’ Doubles, while Jeanna Low settled for 3rd. Aldrich Goh and Ong Jun Hao finished second in the U17 Boys’ Doubles, while Daryl Leong, Julian Tan, and Elliot Ong shared 3rd place. In the U19 Boys’ Doubles, Axel Ng also finished joint 3rd.

The Mixed Doubles event saw alumni Justyn Sim take silver, while Zack Ng and alumna Thng Ting Ting shared 3rd place.

From up-and-coming athletes to experienced alumni, Singapore Sports School’s badminton contingent demonstrated depth and determination across all categories.
