7th Singapore Junior & Hopes Invitational
Amidst fierce competition from top teams across the Asia-Pacific region, our paddlers rose to the occasion and delivered a spectacular performance at the 7th Singapore Junior & Hopes Invitational, held on homeground from 3 to 7 June 2025. With nerves of steel and hearts of champions, they brought home a stunning 15 medals (4 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze).
The highlight of the tournament came in the U19 Girls’ Singles, where our student-athletes achieved a stunning clean sweep on the podium. Loy Ming Ying powered her way to gold, with Chloe Lai and Sie Lay Yin clinching silver and bronze respectively. Their dominant sweep of the podium was a proud and unforgettable moment for the team.
In the U15 Girls’ Singles, Janelle Chiang’s performance was nothing short of inspiring, as she showed poise and determination to claim the gold medal.
The momentum didn’t stop there. In the team events, our student-athletes continued to shine. The unstoppable trio of Chloe, Ming Ying, and Janelle stormed to victory in the U19 Girls’ Team event, while Matthew Ellis, Yang Ze Yi, and Ellsworth Le did just as well to prove their mettle by capturing gold in the U19 Boys’ Team category.
These victories reflect not only the individual talent of our student-athletes but also the collective strength, unity, and hard work of the entire squad and coaching team.
