Aquatic Talents Sharpen Their Edge At SEA Age

47th Southeast Asian (SEA) Age Group Aquatics Championships

Our student-athletes dived into action and made waves at the 47th Southeast Asian Age Group Aquatics Championships. Over the competition held from 19 to 29 June 2025, they surfaced with standout podium finishes across diving, swimming, and water polo.

Diving
National diver Max Lee Shen Oon delivered a commanding performance at the 47th Southeast Asian Age Group Aquatics Championships, bringing home an impressive 5 medals - 3 golds and 2 silvers -across individual and synchronised diving events.

Competing in Age Group A, Max dominated the springboard events, claiming gold in both the 1m and 3m Individual Springboard. He continued his golden run alongside partner Ayden Ng in the A/B Boys 3m Synchronised Springboard, where the duo executed a clean and composed routine to top the field. The pair also teamed up for the A/B Boys Platform Synchronised, clinching silver after a closely contested final. Max rounded off his medal haul with another silver in the Age Group A Boys Platform, finishing second in a strong field of regional competitors.

Swimming
Our swimmers took the stage to shine at the 47th Southeast Asian Age Group Aquatics Championships, held from 25 to 27 June 2025, reeling in an impressive 9 medals (1 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze) against fierce competition from 10 Southeast Asian nations.

Leading the charge was Joy Neo, who delivered a golden splash in the Girls’ 14-15 200m Breaststroke. Clocking a personal best of 2:35.95s, her victory not only earned her a spot at the top of the podium but also a Wild Card entry to the World Junior Championships. Adding to her medal haul, the Secondary 3 student-athlete secured silver in the 100m Breaststroke and helped power the team to a bronze in the Mixed 14-15 4x100m Medley Relay, alongside classmate Julia Yeo.

Julia proved just as strong in the pool, diving into her events with grit to claim a silver and 2 bronze medals. Among the boys, Casey Chua contributed a silver in the Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay, while Ian James Kwek and Ian Leong showed their mettle with bronze finishes in the Boys’ 13 & Under 200m Backstroke and Boys’ 16-18 400m Freestyle respectively.

Water Polo
Our water polo student-athletes made a strong impact at the 47th SEA Age Group Aquatics Championships. Chan Jon-Wy, Merrill Hwang, and Jaylen Yeo played key roles in propelling the Singapore A team to the top of the leaderboard. The Singapore B team, comprising Nathan Yue, Dylan Tay, Ethan Tan, and Ryan Chua, also delivered a commendable performance to finish third, just behind Malaysia.

Individually, Chan Jon-Wy and Ryan Chua were recognised as the Most Valuable Players (MVPs) in two of the matches.

In the Women’s Team, Charlene Tio, Clarissa Tio, Loh Yu Xuan, and Ricci Ong showed great teamwork and resilience, helping the team secure an overall 2nd-place finish.
