Three Wins and a Fighting Finish in Indonesia
Football: Garuda International Cup
Singapore Sports School’s footballers put up a spirited campaign at the Garuda International Cup 2026, held from 19 to 23 August in Sentul, Bogor, Indonesia.
Competing in a tournament that featured 72 teams from 13 countries, our boys made an impressive start with three consecutive victories. They defeated ASIOP of Indonesia 2-1, RKM of Malaysia 4-0, before edging ASIFA of Indonesia 3-2 to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
There, they faced Zhenjiang of China in a tightly contested encounter. With both sides unable to find the breakthrough, the match ended 0-0 and was decided by a penalty shootout, where Sports School eventually fell 2-4.
Despite the narrow exit, the tournament provided our footballers with valuable international exposure and another opportunity to test themselves against strong regional opposition.
