ROAR Awards (July 2026)
This July, the ROAR Awards shine a spotlight on eight remarkable student-athletes whose actions have inspired our school community and demonstrated care, leadership and resilience.
When a fellow student-athlete suffered a deep cut following a cycling accident, ROAR Award recipients Ilyasaq Lee Rossdi, Ilmal Yaqin Mohamed Fadzuhasny, Jake Lim, Mervyn Ng and Mohamad Nur Irwan Mohamad Ridzwan sprang into action without a second thought. Remaining calm, they rallied together to support their injured schoolmate, ensuring a safe return to school and timely medical attention. Their quick thinking, selfless care and unwavering teamwork transformed a difficult moment into a powerful display of friendship and compassion, reminding us all what it means to look out for one another.
Swimmers Joy Neo and Egan Chin also earned their ROAR Awards through exceptional leadership and heartfelt service. They were the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Intergenerational Learning Programme, a Values in Action initiative conducted in collaboration with Fei Yue Community Services and Family Central.
Together, they led their team in fundraising efforts to host 70 seniors for dinner at the Arena on 8 and 15 July 2026. They also planned and carried out an engaging “Amazing Race” to encourage interaction and participation among the seniors. Through strong teamwork, communication and initiative, Joy and Egan created a meaningful and enjoyable experience for the participants.
Sailor John Wong received the ROAR (Resilience) Award for his dedication in balancing international training commitments with academic excellence. Travelling independently across countries, adapting to new environments and competing at the highest levels, he never lost sight of his goals. His relentless perseverance earned him qualification for the 2026 Asian Games while maintaining strong academic performance. John's grit, discipline and unwavering pursuit of excellence exemplify the resilience that inspires others to dream bigger and strive harder.
