Swimmers Splash Gold at Local and Overseas Championships

Swimming: National School Games Swimming Championships 2026, Australian Age Championships 2026

Our swimmers made a powerful splash in April, delivering standout performances in both local and international competitions – the Australian Age Championships 2026 and the National School Games Swimming Championships 2026.

At the Australian Age Championships 2026, held from 11 to 18 April in Gold Coast, Australia, the team rose to the occasion against a competitive international field. Leading the charge was Reagan Cheng, who struck gold in the 100m Breaststroke, added silver in the 200m Individual Medley, and secured two bronze medals in the 200m Backstroke and 200m Breaststroke. His outstanding swim in the Individual Medley also saw him clock the Asian Games B-Cut timing.

Also in excellent form was Zavier Tay, who powered his way to an impressive four silver and two bronze medals, while Aaron Jonathon Ang battled strongly to claim bronze in the Men’s 17–18 100m Breaststroke.

Beyond the podium finishes, the team showed remarkable progress and determination, recording 27 personal bests across the competition.

“Though it was a tiring meet and we were all exhausted, our team still had a fun time at the competition. The dedication and discipline of the swimmers and coaches played a huge role in our success. Overall, our team learnt many new lessons, gained valuable takeaways, and are hungry for more to come,” shared Secondary 3 swimmer Julian Ko.

The momentum continued at the National School Games (NSG) Swimming Championships 2026, held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre from 20 to 24 April, where our swimmers once again proved their mettle. Across five days of intense racing, they fought through every lap with grit, speed and pride, turning each finish into a statement of determination.

Competing across the ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ Division events, the team brought home an outstanding haul of 34 medals – 9 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze.

At the heart of the action was Julia Yeo, who delivered a brilliant double-gold performance in the ‘B’ Division. In the Girls’ 200m Backstroke, she stormed to victory in 2:17.19s, smashing the previous 2019 Meet Record of 2:22.50s. She also added another gold in the 100m Backstroke.

Across the divisions, the gold-medal win continued through outstanding swims from Amanda Law, Casey Chua, Ian James Kwek, Joy Neo, Lee Zi Xuan, Zavier Tay, and the ‘B’ Girls’ 4x50m Medley Relay team, consisting of Casey, Heather Teo, Joy and Julia.

The team’s collective strength also translated into strong divisional finishes. Our swimmers placed 4th overall in the ‘A’ Girls’ Division, and secured 3rd place in both the ‘B’ and ‘C’ Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions.
