Fencing: National School Games
Our fencers delivered a composed showing at the National School Games, navigating intense bouts across Epee, Foil and Sabre with clarity and control.
In the ‘A’ Division, the girls held their own against strong competition, with Isabelle Lee Ern Swan, Alyssa Tan Si En and Cari-Anne Ong each securing bronze medals in the Epee, Foil and Sabre events respectively. Their combined effort saw the team finish 4th overall.
The ‘B’ Division saw steady contributions from both the boys and girls. For the boys, Thaddaeus Ted Lee led the way with a silver in Foil, while Epeeist Ethan Tham and Sabreur Eleazar Quah added bronze medals. Together, their performances secured an overall silver for the team.
On the girls’ side, Sophie Dayana Tunstall delivered a strong showing to clinch silver in Epee, with Valarie Kok adding a bronze in the same event. Sarah Sophia Tan contributed another bronze in Sabre, helping the team to an overall bronze finish.
The ‘C’ Division fencers made their presence felt with a confident and commanding display. In the boys’ events, Kitson Kok struck gold in Epee, while Kaiser Chan followed closely with silver. The momentum carried through with Kai Seah Rajentheran claiming silver in Sabre, alongside a bronze from Linus Tan Wei Hong. Naufal Noh Aqasha Mohamad Nizam added to the tally with a bronze in Foil. Their collective effort secured an overall gold for the ‘C’ Division boys.
For the ‘C’ Division girls, Hannah Isabella Muhammed Hafiz fenced with control and awareness to earn a silver in Sabre, contributing to the team’s overall silver finish.
Across every division, the campaign reflected a display of discipline, tactical awareness and the ability to stay composed under pressure. Each bout demanded quick decisions and cleaner execution, and our fencers rose to that challenge, touch by touch.
