ISSF WORLD CUP AND JUNIOR WORLD CUP

The ISSF World Cup and Junior World Cup are elite open and youth competitions, respectively. Singapore representatives are selected by Singapore Shooting Association; however, Sports School’s shooters have been regular competitors in both international competitions.

Shooter Martina Lindsay P Veloso from the Academy’s first batch of shooters is an ISSF World Cup gold medallist. She also won the ISSF Junior World Cup Team silver medal together with Sports School teammates Adele Tan Qian Xiu and Ho Xiu Yi.

ASIA SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

Singapore Sports School's shooters have frequently made the selection by Singapore Shooting Association to represent the country at this Championship. This opportunity exposes them to elite-level competition with the best shooters in Asia.

SOUTH EAST ASIA SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP

This annual competition sees regular participation by Singapore Sports School’s shooters through selection by Singapore Shooting Association. Our shooters have the opportunities to pit their skills with the best in the region and have continued to fly the Singapore flag high each year.

TAIWAN NATIONAL COMPETITIONS

Student-athletes from the Shooting Academy have additional opportunity to compete in Taiwan national competitions. Sports School’s shooters pit themselves against stronger rivals in the Taiwanese national meets, a series that takes place throughout the year.

CHILDREN OF ASIA INTERNATIONAL SPORTS GAMES

This multi-sport event is held once every four years. In 2016, the Shooting Academy was invited to participate in the 10m air weapon events. Sports School’s team of four shooters were able to experience high level competition against the top Asian shooters in their age-group.

LOCAL COMPETITIONS

The Shooting Academy strives to create an optimal environment and sufficient opportunities for the sport development of our student-athletes. Competition facilitates the development and improvement of an athlete’s performance. Therefore, the Academy is committed to providing as many opportunities as possible and exposing our shooters to different types of competition in the pursuit of excellence.

Some of the local shoots our student-athletes regularly participate in are:
  • Singapore Cups

Special Programmes

PISTOL AND RIFLE TRAINING CAMP (EUROPE)

Besides regular overseas competitions, we also send our shooters to overseas training camps in Europe. The Academy has been to centres in Germany and Montenegro who have experts that provide gun maintenance services. Student-athletes have their guns serviced and fine-tuned, and pellets matched to their guns to increase the accuracy of each shot. Postural analysis and eye testing are also conducted. Sports School’s shooters have also had opportunities to train alongside Olympic and world-class shooters.
