Local and Overseas Competitions

Student-athletes in the National Youth Development Programme (NYDP) will have opportunities to compete at regional and world 3x3 and 5v5 age-group competitions, such as:

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH TOURNAMENTS
Student-athletes can compete in international youth tournaments such as the Asian Youth Games, the Youth Olympic Games, and other Major Games. These tournaments serve as a stepping stone for young athletes to gain international experience.

U18 SOUTHEAST ASIA BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION BASKETBALL QUALIFIER (SEABA) - 5V5 BOYS/GIRLS
This competition is a sub-zone qualifier for Southeast Asia, bringing together the best U18 basketball players from various countries in the region. The SEABA U18 Qualifier serves as the gateway to the FIBA U18 Asia Cup, which is the next step for teams aiming to compete on a continental level.

FIBA U18 ASIA CUP - 5V5 BOYS/GIRLS
The FIBA U18 Asia Cup is one of the most critical tournaments for U18 basketball players in the Asia-Pacific region. The competition brings together the best youth basketball teams from countries across Asia and Oceania, with the ultimate goal of crowning the continental champion.

U17 SEABA 3X3 BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP - 3X3, U17 BOYS AND GIRLS (REGIONAL)
A regional SEABA youth 3x3 event aimed at preparing SEABA teams for higher 3x3 pathways, benchmarking and developing youth 3x3 in Southeast Asia.

Regional Development Leagues and Overseas Training Trips 

In addition to major competitions, NYDP student-athletes will be exposed to a variety of developmental opportunities, including regional age-group leagues and overseas training trips. These events allow players to hone their skills against international competition. More details will be made available at a later date.

Special Programmes

INDIVIDUAL ATTACHMENT PROGRAMME (applicable to SSP-NYDP student-athletes only)
Identified Sports School-NYDP student-athletes could train with overseas youth academies. These SSP student-athletes will be attached to the club on a yearly basis to learn and train with their junior teams. More details will be shared at a later date.
