Paddlers Celebrate Gold Rush and Podium Sweep at STTA Championships

Table Tennis: Dr Ng Eng Hen Cup – STTA Table Tennis Championships 2026

When the pressure rose at the table, our young paddlers responded with composure, consistency and belief. At the Dr Ng Eng Hen Cup – STTA Table Tennis Championships 2026, the team swept the podium in both the U15 Boys’ Singles and U15 Girls’ Singles events.

Organised by the Singapore Table Tennis Association, the championships were held from 4 to 13 September 2026 at Toa Payoh Central Community Club. The competition provided young players with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against a strong domestic field during the September school holidays.

Secondary 2 student-athletes Zane Ong and Chevelle See set the pace for the Sports School contingent. Zane clinched the U15 Boys’ Singles title, with Isaiah Loh finishing 2nd and Damien Li taking joint-3rd. In the U15 Girls’ Singles, Chevelle emerged champion, followed by Arissa Cheng in second place and Gu Xintian and Sonia Zainudeen as joint-3rd finishers. Together, these results gave the Sports School squad a clean sweep of the U15 singles podiums.

Their seniors added further success in the U19 events. Benaiah Seah defeated teammate Benjamin Lau in the U19 Boys’ Singles final to claim his first U19 title. Their all-Sports-School finals highlighted the strength of the developmental pathway offered at Sports School.

In the U19 Girls’ Singles, Sie Lay Yin finished 2nd, while Joeunn Seow took joint-3rd. Across the four singles categories, the Sports School team recorded 11 podium finishes – a remarkable achievement that reflects the paddlers’ resilience, discipline and belief, as well as the strong support system behind their development.
