Netball, IBDP, Year 5
From 2 to 5 June 2026, 10 post-secondary students-athletes participated in the Pre-University Seminar, organised by the Ministry of Education and Temasek Junior College, held at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
With the theme “WE: With Everyone”, every participant was guided to co-create and envision better tomorrows for Singapore by ideating solutions and focusing on building a ‘we first’ society where every citizen can contribute to Singapore’s success.
The Seminar brought together 550 students from 30 pre-university institutions, offering us valuable opportunities to discuss the country’s future. In the months leading up to the Seminar, every student engaged with their group members to identify issues and develop solutions revolving around the three sub-themes, “Our People, One Heartbeat", "Our Places, One Home", and "Our Purpose, Infinite Possibilities".
The Seminar allowed us to gain a deeper appreciation towards Singapore’s progress while inspiring us to contribute to the country’s continuous growth. It also reminded us that nation-building is a shared responsibility and that youths have an important role to play in shaping Singapore’s future. Moreover, the friendships forged and the shared experiences with our groupmates further made the Seminar a memorable and unforgettable journey.
