Bowling: 56th Singapore International Open 2026 and 2026 Macao China International Open

Singapore Sports School bowlers enjoyed an outstanding run of results at both the 56th Singapore International Open and the 2026 Macao China International Open, delivering podium finishes on home soil before capping off the campaign with a double championship for Team Singapore in Macao.

At the Singapore International Open, 4 student-athletes reached the podium against a strong local and international field. Nura Salsabila Zulkifli claimed the Youth Open Girls title, with teammate Ng Xuan Ru finishing 3rd. Kang Hee Hiang emerged champion in the Youth Open Boys division, while Natalie Poh Jing Wen added to the medal tally with a 3rd-place finish in the U16 Girls category.

“It feels really surreal and I’m super grateful to have won the Youth Open category. There were definitely ups and downs leading up to this competition, so seeing all the hard work pay off makes it even more meaningful. I’m thankful to my coaches, teammates, family and everyone who’s supported me throughout my journey,” shared Nura.

Reflecting on her development, she added, “Being in Singapore Sports School and the academy has helped me grow a lot over the years. Being part of the National Development Squad has exposed me to higher level training and competitions, making me more adaptable and mentally stronger. I’ve learned to stay patient, trust my training and the process, and keep believing in myself even when things don’t go my way. That’s made a big difference in how I approach competitions today.”

The momentum continued in Macao, where current post-secondary student-athlete Colleen Pee and alumnus Nu’man Syahmi captured the Women’s Open and Men’s Open titles respectively. Colleen topped the Masters standings before bouncing back from the opening game defeat in the Grand Finals with a superb 267 to secure the Women’s Open crown. Nu’man battled through the Masters and stepladder rounds before defeating Hong Kong’s top seed in the Grand Finals to clinch the Men’s Open title.
