Strengthening Pathways through Partnership

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Sports School and Temasek Polytechnic to offer five joint diploma programmes from the School of Applied Science.
Mr Ong Kim Soon, Principal of Singapore Sports School and Mr Patrice Choong, Principal of Temasek Polytechnic, formally signed the MOU with Mr David Neo as the standing witness.

This new collaboration expands our post-secondary pathways, adding to our existing joint diploma programmes with Ngee Ann Polytechnic and Republic Polytechnic. In recognition of these valued partnerships, Ms Jeanne Liew, Principal of Republic Polytechnic, and Mr Mah Wee Beng, Deputy Principal of Ngee Ann Polytechnic, were also acknowledged on stage.
Celebrating Excellence in Sport, Academics and Character

The pinnacle Moo Soon Chong Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year award was presented to Loy Ming Ying from table tennis and Chow Yong Jun from water polo in the secondary category, while Juliet Heng Jie Min from fencing and Izaac Quek Yong from table tennis received the award from the post-secondary category.
All four recipients are SEA Games medallists who have represented Singapore on the international stage while maintaining strong academic performance and exemplary character.
“It (getting the award) really shows how far I’ve come, how hard I worked throughout the last year,” said water polo player Yong Jun, who is currently pursuing a Diploma in Business Studies programme jointly offered by Sports School and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
Juliet Heng, who could not attend the ceremony as she was training in Paris, shared, “This award really means a lot to me. It reflects not just the work I’ve put in, but the support and effort from my whole village; my coaches, GM, directors, and teammates. I’m super grateful to be recognised, and I’m excited to see what’s next!”
Juliet also received the Outstanding Sports Achievement Award for achieving a gold medal at the SEA Games.
A total of 32 past and present student-athletes were recognised with the Outstanding Sports Achievement Award for their performances at the 2025 SEA Games and World Championships. Swimmer Amanda Lim, paddler and Olympian Clarence Chew, artistic swimmer Debbie Soh and sprint queen Veronica Shanti Pereira returned to Sports School to receive their award, adding excitement and inspiration to the evening.
