Applied Learning Programme: Learning Journey to Green Loop

As part of the Applied Learning Programme, Secondary 1 student-athletes visited Green Loop Farm. It was a new and exciting experience for all of us.

We learnt more about plants and how to take proper care of them, which was something many of us had not done before. Using recycled milk cartons and coconut peats, we planted our own microgreens. Being able to bring a plant home made the experience much more enjoyable and memorable, as we could look after it ourselves and practice responsibility.

All Secondary 1 student-athletes also had the chance to visit the indoor nursery, and we were able to look at different types of edible plants.

We were also allowed to taste some of the plants and flowers, which made the visit more interesting. While the plants did not taste very good, the experience was still enjoyable and gave us a better understanding of nature through hands-on learning.
