Today marks Day 1 of Sport Excellence Singapore (SpexSG), a significant step forward in strengthening Singapore’s high performance sporting ecosystem.

SpexSG integrates Singapore Sports School, High Performance Sport Institute (HPSI), and Unleash the Roar! (UTR!) and aims to propel Team Singapore further, with a shared vision of developing a world-class, integrated high performance sport ecosystem where athletes can thrive, and a purpose to nurture world-class athletes who inspire and unite Singapore.

Announced by Mr David Neo, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth on 5 March 2026, the integration marks a major milestone in Singapore’s sporting journey. Through the collective expertise of each entity, SpexSG is poised to propel Team Singapore further and higher.

While each entity will retain its own identity, the integration will create a more seamless and coordinated pathway for athletes from youth development through to elite performance. Athletes can expect more consistent support across key life stages, enhanced coordination in training and development, and better access to sport science and medical support tailored to their performance needs.

As SpexSG begins its journey today, it signals a renewed commitment to supporting Team Singapore athletes in reaching their full potential.
