Visits from Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Senior Minister of State for Education Mr David Neo and Hong Kong Sports Institute
Visit by Mr David Neo
On 10 February 2026, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Senior Minister of State for Education, Mr David Neo, visited Singapore Sports School for an up-close look at how the school develops its student-athletes.
During his visit, Mr Neo toured the Bowling, Fencing and Shootingacademies, where coaches shared insights into the technology and performance tools used to sharpen training and raise competitive standards. From precision tracking systems to data-driven analysis, he saw how innovation supports both skill development and student-athlete safety.
He had the opportunity to learn more about the school’s Applied Learning Programme from Secondary 3 student-athletes who completed it in their lower secondary years.
He also took time to interact with student-athletes, chatting with them about how they balance sporting ambitions with academic commitments. The conversations offered a glimpse into their daily routines, challenges and aspirations.

Athletes from Hong Kong Sports Institute came to Sports School for training sessions and a learning journey on 12 February 2026. While some athletes joined training sessions, athletes from other sports were taken on an interactive tour around the school.
