Bonding Through Sports
Values in Action: Multi-Sport and Netball Academy
The Multi-Sport Academy student-athletes were all smiles as they brought the joy of bouldering to underprivileged primary school children through the Bouldering Experience, a Values in Action initiative held in collaboration with Boon Lay Community Club Comlink+ on 8 and 10 September 2025.
From thrilling climbing challenges and laughter-filled games to simple moments of bonding over snacks, it became a heartwarming session filled with memories to cherish. While the children discovered the excitement of bouldering and picked up new skills, our student-athletes gained just as much, learning the importance of teamwork, empathy, and collaboration.
Between August and September, the Netball Academy also gave back to the community through Playbuddy, a programme that empowers people with disabilities to experience new sports and have fun.
Over four sessions, our netballers introduced participants to basic Netball skills, while learning to adapt, be patient, and ensure everyone could take part regardless of ability. Beyond teaching the game, they created a safe and supportive space that raised awareness, built connections, and showed how sport can unite people from all walks of life.
“Our participants shared that the sessions were actively strenuous, but it was fun. Hearing this feedback made me glad that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves,” said Secondary 4 student-athlete Neo Kai Qi, reflecting the impact of the initiative.
