Golden Strokes In Malaysia
Swimming: 3rd Malaysia National Open Water Swimming Championships 2025

Our swimmers made waves at the 3rd Malaysia National Open Water Swimming (OWS) Championships 2025, delivering outstanding performances with talent, determination, and teamwork over the weekend.
In the 10km Girls’ 16-17 race, our athletes dominated the podium with medals of all colours. Lee Xuan Ying struck gold, Mint Har claimed silver, and Azlina Mastamam secured bronze, showcasing their endurance and skill in the long-distance event.
Azlina Mastamam reflected, “Since it was my first time doing a 10km swim in open waters, I was honestly quite anxious because I hadn't trained as much as my seniors, but I knew I wanted to pursue this as a passion for open water swimming and push myself to complete it. I learnt a lot of things while I was there, such as how many times I needed to feed for each round, or how I should adapt to the environment.”
Our swimmers also excelled in the 1.5km races. Casey Chua topped the Girls’ 13-15 category with a gold-medal finish, while in the Boys’ 13-15 race, Ryker Tan earned a well-deserved silver. In the Girls’ 16-17 category, Amanda Law clinched third place, finishing in 22:08, and Manda Low came in fourth, rounding out another strong performance for the team.
