Football: Training Tour to Penang

The Football Academy spent the bulk of the September break, from 7 to 12 September 2025, on a training tour in Malaysia. We headed to Penang where we stayed for six days and challenged ourselves against local sides.

During the trip, I gained valuable experiences from the teams we played against, as they were both technically and physically strong. Over the first two games, where we played against teams representing Pusat Latihan Daerah Seberang Prai Utara (U15), we found it challenging to cope well, as the pitch was unfamiliar and the ball was slightly heavier than the ones we were used to. After the first game, we learned to adapt to the conditions, and in the second game, we played to the best of our ability. Our team was unlucky in the second game, and despite our best efforts, we could not get the win we strived for. In our final game of the tour, we played against Pusat Latihan Daerah Seberang Prai Tengah (U15). Despite feeling fatigued, we gave it our all and won convincingly. Passes were crisp, movement was outstanding, and the goals flowed! It was truly one of the best games we played this year, and we ended our trip on a high note. The trip taught us that there’s still lots to do, and we look forward to better performances moving forward!
