A Journey of Heart And Discovery

IBDP's Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) Trip to Hong Kong

From 23 to 27 November 2025, our IBDP Year 5 student-athletes touched down in Hong Kong for an unforgettable overseas Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) trip.

The trip kicked off with an inspiring recycling workshop led by Mr Eric from V-cycle. Guided by elderly workers, our student-athletes rolled up their sleeves and learned how to sort post-consumer plastics. What began as a simple hands-on task quickly transformed into a meaningful exchange of stories, laughter, and teamwork, showing how learning becomes even more enriching when generations come together.

Next, our students hit the courts to play sports with neurodiverse individuals from Love21. Energy was high, smiles were wide, and the spirit of inclusion lit up every pass, sprint, and cheer. It was a powerful reminder of how sport can unite people from all walks of life.

The service momentum continued as our student-athletes stepped into the role of teachers, conducting English, ICT, and AI-tool lessons for ethnic minority and lower-income children. With creativity and enthusiasm, they transformed classrooms into spaces filled with curiosity and confidence, igniting sparks of learning among the young participants.

A major highlight of the trip was the visit to Dignity Kitchen in Mong Kok, where our student-athletes gained hands-on experience working alongside disadvantaged and disabled individuals in a bustling social enterprise. From preparing meals to observing daily operations, they witnessed how dignity, purpose, and heart can transform a kitchen into a powerful force for good.

And of course, no trip to Hong Kong would be complete without a little adventure! Our student-athletes trekked the scenic trails of Lamma Island, uncovered the rich stories along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail, and journeyed through history at Kowloon Walled City Park. Each experience offered a new glimpse into Hong Kong’s culture, resilience, and vibrant spirit.

After five days of learning, serving, connecting, and exploring, our student-athletes returned home with full hearts, unforgettable memories, and broadened perspectives that strengthened their understanding of what it truly means to be global citizens.
