ASEAN Schools Games

11 student-athletes from Singapore Sports School were part of the 130-member ASEAN Schools Games 2025 contingent in Brunei Darussalam from 20 to 29 November. While our student-athletes represented the Singapore Schools Sports Team in athletics, badminton and swimming, the wider contingent also included student-athletes from basketball, netball, sepaktakraw and wushu.

In swimming, Joy Neo Ning Suan earned an individual silver in 200m Breaststroke with a new personal best timing and was part of the 4x100m Medley Relay team that won bronze. Casey Chua Yu Tong also delivered strong performances, securing a silver in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay and a bronze in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay. Aaron Jonathon Ang and Heather Teo Jing Wen were also part of the swimming team.

In athletics, Secondary 3 student-athlete Megan Chng Shu Ting strained her hamstring during the 4x100m relay event, where Team Singapore placed 6th. Despite the setback, she showed commendable grit in the 100m hurdles, giving her all for the team.

Shuttlers Abhyarthna Chhajer, Daryl Leong Jun Rui, Jeanna Low Rui Xuan, Maegan Tan Yee Kah, May Yoon San and Ong Jun Hao gained valuable international exposure and experience on the regional stage.

The ASEAN Schools Games aims to promote solidarity among ASEAN youth while providing student-athletes with a platform to benchmark themselves, gain international experience, and further hone their sporting talents.
