Shooters Trigger Triumph At SEA Shooting Championship

Shooting: 47th Southeast Asia Shooting Championship

The sound of steady breaths and sharp shots filled the air at the 47th Southeast Asia Shooting Championship, where top shooters from across the region gathered in preparation for the upcoming SEA Games. Held in Bangkok from 9 to 15 October 2025, the competition saw our team of 7 shooters rise to the occasion, amassing an impressive haul of 10 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze), a remarkable performance that reflected their composure, precision, and grit.

Among the standout performances was the 10m Air Rifle Men’s Junior Team, comprising Eston Soo Yin Teng and Lee Zhe Kai, who fired their way to the top of the podium with a gold-medal finish. Eston also demonstrated remarkable individual consistency, clinching silver in the 10m Air Rifle Men Junior Individual event.

Not to be outdone, our 10m Air Rifle Women Junior Team, featuring Jillian Su En-Yin and alumna Irna Qistina Noorazlin, displayed unwavering determination to capture a well-deserved silver medal.

Our alumni also shone brightly on the range. Mohamad Irwan Abdul Rahman struck gold in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event and teamed up with fellow alumnus Ryan Sim Jia Le to claim another gold in the 10m Air Rifle Men’s Team. Meanwhile, alumnus Au Yong Qing Yong delivered a commendable performance, earning silver in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Junior and bronze in the 10m Air Pistol Men’s Junior Individual event.

Capping off the week-long championship, alumna Martina Lindsay Veloso delivered a spectacular finale by breaking the qualification score record and seizing silver in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women’s event.
