Shooting: East Asia Youth Airgun Championship


From 3 to 9 December 2025, 12 of our shooters took aim on the international stage at the East Asia Youth Airgun Championship held in Chuncheon, South Korea. Joining powerhouses Japan and host South Korea, this year’s edition raised the stakes with the addition of Taiwan and Indonesia, making the competition fiercer than ever.

Undeterred, our shooters rose to the challenge in style, bringing home an impressive 7 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze). Leading the charge was Quek Gek Ling, who delivered a commanding performance to clinch gold in the 10m Air Pistol Women Youth Individual, with Clarice Lee adding a bronze to the tally. Together with Samantha Cheng, the trio combined precision and composure to secure silver in the team event. The momentum continued in the Mixed Team event, where Han Kay Xu and Samantha showcased strong chemistry to claim another silver.

The 10m Air Rifle events saw a clean sweep of bronzes. Eston Soo fired his way to an individual bronze, before teaming up with Lim Hong Rui and Huang Jiabao to add a team bronze. Not to be outdone, the girls matched the feat with a bronze in the team event.

Beyond the medals, the seven-day campaign proved invaluable. Our shooters underwent a comprehensive training programme featuring video analysis, physical fitness testing, and a rare opportunity to be mentored by an Olympic silver medallist and an Asian Games gold medallist, an experience that elevated both skill and confidence.
