Footballers Finish the Year Strong in Thailand

Football: Siam Cup

Singapore Sports School’s Under-15 footballers returned from the Siam Cup, played in Bangkok Thailand from 28 to 30 November 2025, with valuable match experience and a deeper understanding of what it takes to perform consistently across a multi-day competition. Over three matches, the squad showed clear intent to approach each game with focus, discipline, and purposeful teamwork.

The opening fixtures were against less demanding opponents, yet the players kept their standards high. Their movement, work ethic, and confidence on the ball allowed them to apply the team’s playing philosophy with intent. These matches served as important tactical and technical practice for both the collective unit and individual roles.

The final encounter proved far more demanding. Maple Hotel FC U15 arrived with greater physicality, aggression, and technical sharpness. Our student-athletes rose to the challenge, showing resilience and determination to edge out a hard-fought 1-0 win. Their ability to adapt under pressure and compete against higher-level opposition stood out as a key takeaway.

Beyond the scoreboard, the tournament provided significant learning opportunities. Our footballers were challenged not only in match situations but also in their off-field habits. They took responsibility for their preparation, stayed focused through travel and recovery, and demonstrated strong mental readiness throughout the competition. The experience offered a meaningful step forward in their development as both athletes and young professionals.
