Multi-Sport Foundations Meet New Frontiers
Multi-Sport Academy: National Weightlifting Championship, Inter-Club Wrestling Meet
On 23 and 24 November, our Secondary 2 student-athletes from the Multi-Sport Academy stepped into competitive arenas and rose to the occasion, showcasing their growing capabilities in weightlifting and wrestling.
At the National Weightlifting Championship, Zhou Yuhan impressed in her category, clinching gold in the 58kg division. The achievement marked a promising milestone in her development as a weightlifter.
“I had a great time at the competition. While it was not my best performance, I learnt a lot and I am excited to make improvements for the next one,” shared Yuhan.
On the wrestling mats, Elizabeth Sim, Chong Qi En, and Caleb Chan tested themselves at the Inter-Club Wrestling Meet after months of dedicated training. Competing in the UWW Boys and Girls 15U Freestyle Wrestling categories, Caleb emerged with gold in his division, while Qi En and Elizabeth secured silver and bronze respectively in the girls’ events.
For Qi En, the competition marked an important first step in her wrestling journey. “The inter-club competition was my first wrestling competition, and it helped me understand the sport better. This experience has been a blessing, and I am grateful for the support that helped me perform well,” she said.
As our Secondary 2 student-athletes prepare to embark on their specialisation pathways in 2026 as the pioneer batch of seniors, we celebrate more than podium finishes. Two years of broad-based multi-sport training have shaped adaptable athletes with confidence, resilience, and a strong foundation for long-term growth.
