Shan Runs To Podium
2019 LAWA State Track and Field Championships
Close to 2s was shaved off his previous best when Shan s/o S Anandan crossed the line in 2:05.80s. With about 250m to go in the Boys 800m, the Secondary 3 Singapore Sports School runner crept into the leading pack of four runners and pushed towards the finish line.
Being pressured by an Australian competitor half a stride length away, Shan dug deep to hold on to his position for the bronze medal at the 2019 LAWA State Track and Field Championships in Perth, Australia. Shan’s medal contribution came on 9 March 2019, the first of the two-day meet.
