2020 National Open Championships

Singapore Sports School post-secondary student-athlete Jaslyn Hooi Yue Yann and alumnus Jason Teh Jia Heng got off to a winning start in 2020 to claim the Women’s and Men’s Singles championship title respectively at the 2020 National Open Championships.

Top seed Jaslyn, who settled for runner-up position last year, capped a comfortable victory in the Singles finals on 11 January 2020. She took just 33 minutes to defeat second seed opponent Grace Chua with scores of 21-16, 21-8. Jason played an absolute blinder in the Men’s Singles as he secured a 21-14, 21-11 win over Vega Vio Nirwanda of Indonesia in 34 minutes.

Sports School student-athletes and alumni clinched a total of 13 medals (5 golds, 1 silver and 7 bronzes) at the second edition of the Championships.
