2020 STTA National Table Tennis Grand Finale

The National Table Tennis Grand Finals saw the gathering of a record breaking 66 teams made up of players from China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and India. At the end of the eleven-day tournament from 2 to 12 January 2020, Singapore Sports School’s Table Tennis student-athletes and alumni racked up a total of 23 medals – 7 golds, 7 silvers and 9 bronzes. Out of all seven events, the top two spots were swept by Sports School student-athletes and alumni.

It was a feather in the cap for 15-year-old Zhou Jingyi who proved herself again after her recent promotion into the Intermediate Squad. Jingyi clinched the top spot in the Women’s Singles, Women's Doubles (with Ser Lin Qian) and Women's Team (with Ser Lin Qian, Janissa Cheng Yoke Ning and Koh Jia Qi) titles.

In the Men’s events, DSLM Year 3 student-athlete Beh Kun Ting, who was recently promoted to the National Team, took the Men’s Singles gold. DBS Year 3's Ethan Poh Shao Feng got his hands on the Men’s Doubles (with DSLM student-athlete Clarence Chew Zhe Yu) and Men’s Team (with Yin Jing Yuan and Duan Lian Zheng) titles. The Mixed Doubles gold went to alumnus Pang Xue Jie and Zhang Wanling (DSLM Year 4) who was also recently inducted to the National Team.
