International Paddlers Meet At Singapore Sports School

2019 Singapore Junior and Hopes Invitational Table Tennis Tournament


More than 190 paddlers from nine countries – Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam and Singapore – began their campaign on 28 March 2019 in the hope of being crowned the top U13 and U17 Singles and Team players at the 4th Singapore Junior and Hopes Invitational Table Tennis Tournament. The tournament, jointly organised by the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) and Singapore Sports School, was held at the Singapore Sports School Auditorium. Over four days of grueling competition, four paddlers emerged Singles champions among over 190 competitors in the 13 and Under, and 17 and Under age-groups. Table tennis players from nine participating countries also competed in the Team events.

Singapore Sports School’s Secondary 1 student-athlete Izaac Quek Yong, added a gold medal to his growing stash of sporting medals by winning the Boys' 13 and Under Singles. Student-athletes Jassy Tan Li Lin, Ser Lin Qian and Zhou Jingyi put up a strong fight and secured the Girls' 17 and Under Team bronze medal.
