Striking Results For Mandy Koh At ‘A’ Division Championships

National School Games: Bowling 'A' Division Championships

Like any of her bowling competitors, Mandy Koh Mun Leng (IBDP Year 6), entered the National School Games Bowling Championships focused and ready to strike. She knew that in the ‘A’ Division Girls category she was competing in, she was up against some of the top emerging bowlers in the country.

Mandy kept her thoughts zeroed in on performing well. In the Girls Singles event, she was kept on her toes by a competitor from Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC). For the first 4 games, the score between them was close but Mandy kept her nerves and bowled well in games 5 and 6 to score a total pinfall of 1374, edging her competitor by 27 pinfalls. Gold for Mandy Koh for the singles event!

Mandy then teamed up with Taneisha Kaur Teo Eelin (IBDP Year 5) in the Girls Doubles, and this time, they faced fierce competition from the ACJC and Raffles Institution bowlers. Mandy and Taneisha kept their spirits high and worked through the competition scoring a total 2526 pinfalls, finishing second in the group and securing the silver medal.

Mandy’s impressive showing in the competition ultimately saw her clinching the bronze medal after finishing third in the All Events category.

Kudos to Mandy and the rest of the Sports School bowlers!
