Justin Changes Course, Snags Top 5 Spot In Junior World Meet

Sitting at 13th position, becoming a medal contender seemed a near-impossible task for Justin Kuk Zheng Zhong at the 2019 Ciputra Golfpreneur Junior World. Top five golfers in each division will be presented trophies and the Singapore Sports School post-secondary student-athlete trailed 5th-placed Thai Supakit Seelanagae by 8 strokes at the end of Round 2.

A stroke of confidence. A stroke of skill. A stroke under par on five holes. Justin shot the lowest score for Round 3, carding 4-under 68 strokes, to propel him into the top 5 in the Boys “A” Division competition amongst a field of 38 Under 18 international golfers.

He entered the final day on five over, the Year 2 Diploma in Sports and Leisure Management golfer re-strategised and trusted his skills to deviate from the more conventional style of play at the Damai Indah Golf Pantai Indah Kapuk Course in Jakarta, Indonesia. His plan payed paid off as he secured the last clinched the 3rd Runner Up medal trophyspot in the “A” Division with 1-over 217 strokes (75, 74, 68) at the tournament held from 21 to 23 May 2019.
