Wushu Wonder Kicks Up A Storm
IWF Wushu Taolu Rising Star of the Year
Zeanne Law Zhi Ning, an Extended IBDP student and Wushu athlete, was named 2023 International Wushu Federation Wushu Taolu Rising Star of the Year on 23 January 2024. The title was determined by initial evaluations by the International Wushu Federation and a one-month public voting process.
Her remarkable accomplishments, including winning the gold medal in Women’s Taijiquan during her debut at the World Wushu Championships last year, and securing the silver medal in the Women’s Duilian event with teammates Kimberly Ong Li Ling and Zoe Tan Zi Yi, truly underscored her deserving nature for the award.
In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, she expressed her joy at receiving the award, stating, “I am very happy to receive this award. Because it was determined through voting, I am deeply grateful to everyone who took the time and effort to vote for me. Knowing that people from both within and outside the Wushu community supported athletes like us is truly moving. This also indicates a significant support system behind me, motivating me to strive harder in future competitions.”
This award serves as strong motivation for Zeanne to give her best and achieve outstanding results in the Fourth World Taijiquan Championship in Singapore and the Wushu Routine World Cup in Japan later this year.
