32nd Southeast Asian Games

88 past and present student-athletes showcased their talent, grit, and determination as they went on a medal hunt at the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Cambodia from 5 to 17 May 2023. Team Sports School clinched a total of 46 medals - 14 gold, 13 silver, 19 bronze - and won invaluable lessons, unforgettable memories and the pride of representing Singapore at the SEA Games. Izaac Quek became a sensation after becoming a triple gold medallist for winning the Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Men’s Team title. Fencer Si To Jian Tong is the first Singaporean to win an individual gold medal in Men’s Epee at the SEA Games. Debutante Juliet Heng Jie Min also won the first gold medal since 2017 in Women’s Sabre.

19th Asian Games

After a year’s postponement, the 19th Asian Games was back from 23 September to 8 October 2023. At the Asian Games, a record number of 66 past and present student-athletes flew the Singapore flag high. Alumni won 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals, which is nearly 44% of the total medals won by the Singapore contingent. A key highlight of the Games came from alumna and sprint queen Veronica Shanti Pereira as she won gold in the Women's 200m and silver in the Women’s 100m event, making history for Singapore’s athletics. Other achievements include roller skater Keenan Brunkard's personal best in Men’s Inline Freestyle Skating Slalom and Jerald Lium's personal record during the Men’s 800m Freestyle finals.

New World Champions!

We have 3 new world champions from Sports School in 2023! Our current student-athlete in her final year of the IBDP programme, Zeanne Law, became a world wushu world champion along with alumnus Jowen Lim after getting the best scores in their events. Also, bowler Darren Ong was crowned as the new Men’s Singles world champion after his triumph at the 2023 IBF World Bowling Championships in Kuwait.

Level Camps To Outward Bound School

After a long hiatus, our student-athletes finally had the opportunity to venture to Outward Bound School for their level camps. Through learning and adventure in the outdoors, our student-athletes gained leadership and life skills that are valuable for their growth and personal development.

National Day With Woodlands Gardens School

For the first time, Sports School collaborated with Woodlands Gardens School to celebrate the nation’s 58th birthday to encourage inclusivity. Students from both schools united in the heart-warming celebration through music and dance performances and singing of national day songs. It was especially wonderful to see our student-athletes interact and care for students from the Woodlands Gardens School.

Academic Success

Our student-athletes have yet again proven that it is possible to balance sports and studies after getting impressive results in their IBDP, GCE O-Level or GCE N-Level examinations! Armed with their certificate and holistic development at Sports School, they confidently moved on to the next stage of the education journey.
