In the midst of disconcerting news going round the world due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) pandemic, Singapore Gymnastics brought some cheer as they recognised the contributions and achievements of national gymnasts past and present.

Among the award recipients of the Singapore Gymnastics’ Annual Awards 2020, Singapore Sports School student-athletes Leah Chew and Sean Yeo Xong Sean were named Senior International Athlete of the Year for Rhythmic Gymnastics and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, respectively, for their sport performance in 2019. Sean, a student-athlete in the Diploma in Sports and Leisure Management (DSLM) programme, won a silver medal at the Philippines 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Meanwhile at the same major Games, Leah (Diploma in Sport Management Year 2) made the three out of four finals in the individual apparatus to become was Singapore's top performer in the Rhythmic Gymnastics discipline.

Eighteen other student-athletes and alumni received recognition across seven categories.
