Shooters Bag Academic Awards From Mendaki

Anugerah MENDAKI 2020

Eight Singapore Sports School student-athletes and alumni received awards at the Anugerah MENDAKI 2020 on 3 October 2020, presented by Yayasan MENDAKI. They were amongst more than 500 Muslim recipients who received recognition for their achievements in academic and non-academic fields. Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and Mendaki chairman Masagos Zulkifli was Guest-Of-Honour at the online awards ceremony.

All three Singapore Sports School alumni who received the Anugerah Mendaki Award – an academic prize for students and youth who have achieved stellar results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma and Polytechnic programmes – were from the Shooting Academy. They included Muhammad Izzat Junaidie and Nur Azmina Mohammad Nazri from the IBDP class, and national shooter Mohamad Irwan Abdul Rahman. Irwan, who graduated from the Sports and Leisure Management programme with a Diploma with Merit, was on Sports School’s customised programme in collaboration with Republic Polytechnic.

Four other student-athletes and one alumnus received the Special Achievement Award for Excellence (Non-Academic). The award is presented to youths between 14 and 25 years old who have achieved results at the national level or higher.
