Fencers demonstrated exceptional skills and precision in the 2023 Singapore Junior Nationals, 2023 Singapore Senior Sabre Trials and 2023 Singapore Senior Epee Challenge, held on November 4 to 5 2023, November 12 2023, and November 25 to 26 2023 respectively. The three weekends of intense competition yielded impressive results, with the team bringing home a total of 16 medals.


In a spectacular display of dominance, the male sabre fencers asserted their supremacy at the Singapore Junior Nationals by sweeping all medals in the Men's Sabre event. Lucas Tan Wei Fang and Marcus Maximilian Tan secured the top two positions, while Isaac Ong Shao En and Josiah Wei Kai Liang shared the joint bronze medals.


The success continued at the 2023 Singapore Senior Sabre Trials, where senior sabre fencers showcased their prowess. Post-secondary student-athlete Juliet Heng Jie Min and alumnus Chan Phu Xien claimed the championship titles in the Women's and Men's Sabre events respectively. In the Men's Sabre category, Dan Wei Zuo and Marcus Maximilian Tan secured joint third position, while alumna Jean Koh achieved the same feat in the Women's Sabre event. The outstanding performances culminated in Team Sports School bagging a total of 10 medals in the 2023 Senior Trials.


 Additionally, the senior epee fencers dominated the Senior Challenge 2023, Men’s Epee event, held from 25 to 26 November 2023. Simon Lee Renjie claimed the champion’s title, along with Bron Sheum Han Shen and alumni Jefferson Cheong Jia Hui taking joint third places to join Simon on the podium to celebrate their victories.


In the international arena, Si To Jian Tong displayed remarkable performance and fighting spirit at the Berne World Cup 2023, known for its fierce and challenging competition. Jian Tong fought hard to earn himself the 14th ranking place in the Men’s Epee Individual Event, which is an exceptional milestone.
